Contribute photos and videos to the Penguin, Tas collection: A Guide

As we announced in a previous post, we’d like to invite you to share your photos and videos of Penguin, Tasmania and the surrounding area in our online visual collections!

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to contribute your visual treasures to the community’s Flickr collection. Let’s get started!

If you are using a smartphone

  1. Get the free Flickr app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create a Flickr account: If you don’t already have one, sign up for a free Flickr account.
  3. Join the photo groups: Search for the following groups on Flickr and join.
  4. Upload your content: Tap the Upload button (the + icon) and select your photos and videos. Add relevant descriptions, tags and titles.
  5. Tap the ‘Share’ button on the photo/video you want to share and add it to the appropriate photo group you have just joined by tapping ‘Add to Group’.

If you are using a computer

  1. Go to the Flickr website at https://www.flickr.com/.
  2. Create a Flickr account: If you don’t already have one, sign up for a free Flickr account.
  3. Join the photo groups: Search for the following groups on Flickr and join.
  4. Upload your content: Click the Upload button (a cloud icon) and select your photos and videos of Penguin, TAS. Add relevant descriptions, tags and titles, and don’t forget to add them to the appropriate photo group you have just joined.

Your contributions will enrich the community’s knowledge. By sharing your visual stories, you’ll preserve a piece of local history and inspire others to explore the beauty of Tasmania. Your submissions will also automatically appear on our gallery page.
